The Planning and Building Department provides certified professional services for the enforcement of the city’s codes relating to the use of land and State of Florida regulations relating to the health, safety, and welfare of residents and visitors of St. Augustine. 

Be aware of fraudulent emails asking for wire transfers to pay for application fees or advertising.

OFFICIAL EMAIL: Legitimate requests only come from @citystaug.com addresses.

OFFICIAL PAYMENT: We NEVER request wire transfers. Pay only through the Permit Portal or by check to the Planning & Building Department.

CONFIRM: If you receive a suspicious invoice, do not pay. Call us immediately to verify: (904) 825-1065.

All permits may be obtained from the Planning and Building Department on the Building Permit Information Page. 

Zoning Atlas

The City’s Zoning Atlas is available online. It provides the zoning and future land use of a property in the City limits. Please reference our future land use document (PDF).

Support for Boards

Under the leadership of Director Amy Skinner, the Planning and Building Department also provides staff support for the Planning and Zoning Board, Historic Architectural Review Board, Corridor Review Committee, Development Review Committee, and the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate. Information and agendas for all of these boards are available through their pages.
