Member Information

There are no specific guidelines to the number of members on the board or their particular backgrounds, other than their love of trees in their city. The committee routinely reviews city ordinances, recommends updates when needed, and reviews City maintenance and enforcement practices. The STAC hosts an Arbor Day Celebration annually and frequently sponsors Earth Day activities.

Yard of the Year Award

City of St. Augustine residents are encouraged to apply for the Yard of the Year award.  Yards are scored by the Street Tree Advisory Committee; the winner will receive recognition and a sign in their yard for the year.   

About the Board

The Street Tree Advisory Committee (STAC) is a staff-appointed volunteer board which meets quarterly to assist and advise the Public Works and Planning departments as it relates to protection, preservation and management of the city’s urban forest.
