Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB)

The Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) advises property owners and government agencies concerning the maintenance, protection, enhancement, and preservation of historic resources. The board reviews applications for Certificates and Opinions of Appropriateness, Certificates of Demolition or Relocation, and may designate historic landmarks. HARB also reviews applications associated with the historic preservation property tax (ad valorem) exemption for the City of St. Augustine and St. Johns County.

Official Email: Legitimate requests only come from @citystaug.com addresses.

Official Payment: We NEVER request wire transfers. Pay only through the Permit Portal or by check to the Planning & Building Department.

To contact board members regarding an application set to be heard at an upcoming meeting, you can E-mail the Historic Architectural Review Board up to one day prior to the meeting and the board will receive your comments.

Applications

Applications must be submitted via the Planning and Building Department Online Portal according to the deadline schedule to meet legal advertising requirements.  More information about applying to appear before the HARB can be found on the HARB Application page.
