Redevelopment 25! Celebration rescheduled for Thursday, October 30

Third time is a charm!

News Flash Posted on October 10, 2025

Due to the unpredictability of the weather, the Historic Area Community Redevelopment Area (HACRA), has rescheduled its Redevelopment 25! celebration for Thursday, October 30, keeping the time and place of the event the same, from at 5:00pm until 8:00pm, on the rooftop of the Historic Downtown Parking Garage, located at 1 Cordova Street.

“We tried to reschedule from Thursday to Friday, but Mother Nature just wasn’t cooperating,” lamented Jaime D. Perkins, Community Services Director.  “We hope the entire St. Augustine community will mark their calendars and join us at the end this month – it’s still going to be a great event!”

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a fall evening of music, fun, education, and interactive activities with CRA staff.

The Palmetto Pickers will begin playing their country, rock and blues music starting at 5:30pm and participants will enjoy free activities including a spin-to-win prize wheel, photo booth bus, pizza, and educational activities.

Old Beach Bike Riders Association, Inc., will be across the street from the entrance to the parking garage on Francis Field to provide a no-cost bike valet service for safe, secure short-term parking of bicycles.  Bike transportation or walking to the celebration is encouraged, vehicle parking will be available in the Historic Downtown Parking Garage. Parking rates are $5 for non-residents or $3 for St. Johns County residents.

The Historic Area Community Redevelopment Area (HACRA) was the first Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) established by the City of St. Augustine in 2000, with a coverage area of 218.8 acres. The HACRA Plan prioritized initiatives that focused on the construction of the municipal parking garage, creation of a walkable downtown environment, and traffic reduction in the downtown area.

Visit the CRA website to learn more about the redevelopment plan for the HACRA, Lincolnville Community Redevelopment Area (LCRA), and the West City Community Redevelopment Area (WCCRA).

In compliance with Florida State Statute CH 163 Part III, the public can access the latest CRA Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Report or visit the CRA website to download 2024 Annual Report.
