On Monday, March 24, during the regularly scheduled City Commission, the City of St. Augustine City Commission voted to modify the start and end dates for the upcoming 2025 Nights of Lights season. Following lengthy public comment from business owners, residents, and community stakeholders, including officials from St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, the City Commission discussed options for shortening the season.
Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline made the motion to begin the 2025 season one week earlier than last year, starting on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and close the annual event on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The motion passed, 3-2, with Vice Mayor Barbara Blonder and Commissioner Cynthia Garris voting against the schedule.
