Public workshop scheduled for Tuesday, September 10 at 5pm
The City of St. Augustine Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is seeking input from residents, business owners, and stakeholders in West City to attend a public workshop on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, at Shiloh Baptist Church (Remnant Outreach Ministry), located at 271 W. King St., St. Augustine.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide an opportunity for the public to provide input and contribute ideas to the West City Community Redevelopment Area (WCCRA) Redevelopment Plan.
The public is encouraged to attend and share ideas and offer feedback to help City staff and the WCCRA Steering Committee identify the vital elements necessary to redevelop West City, making it a more vibrant place to live and work. Topics of interest for consideration in developing the plan include infrastructure, pedestrian connectivity, culture, historic preservation, beautification, and overall redevelopment in the WCCRA.
The WCCRA was established in May 2024 after assessing conditions within the neighborhood and the City Commission appointed a temporary West City CRA Steering Committee for the purpose of developing the redevelopment plan. The plan aims to identify strategic goals and key components to address redevelopment opportunities through programs, projects, and initiatives.
It is important to note that members of the steering committee, if in attendance, will not be able to participate or engage in conversation, but will only be able to observe and listen, due to Florida Sunshine laws.
