City Commission to hold special budget meetings
Two-day workshop offers comprehensive review of FY2025 budget
On Thursday, August 22 and, if needed, Friday, August 23, the St. Augustine City Commission will have its annual budget workshops. In a more informal setting than regular meetings, commissioners take this time to review the entire 2024-2025 City budget.
The meetings begin at 9:00am in The Alcazar Room of City Hall, located at 75 King St. The meetings are open to the public and will be streamed live at www.CityStAugTV.com, and available on demand the day following each meeting.
The FY2025 Annual Budget Book will be made available on the City’s website prior to the August 22 meeting. It is the primary source of information for the workshop. The book is guided by decisions the commission has made in recent months. Leaving the proposed millage rate unchanged at 7.5 mills, the fire assessment fee unchanged, and increasing Utility rates, Stormwater rates and Solid Waste rates by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 3% are examples of such decisions. The City’s Five Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) pays a role in budget considerations for this year as well as future years.
The final adoption of the budget will take place at the Special Commission meetings on September 5, 2024, and September 19, 2024.
