Public art finalists return for presentations to art committee

Artists will present proposals on Tuesday, July 9

Three finalists selected by the City’s Public Art Committee will return for a public meeting in The Alcazar Room of City Hall on Tuesday, July 9, at 9:00am, to present their proposals for the art installation at the May Street and San Marco intersection.

The Public Art Committee selected Vickie Scuri, Ivan Depeña, and Patrick Marold.  In May, after participating in an open house meeting with the public where they heard suggestions and personal visions for the art installation, the artists also went before the City Commission to answer questions about themselves and their work.

Following the July 9 public meeting, the Public Art Committee will convene on July 30 to rank and recommend their finalists’ proposals to be presented to the City Commission.

The final recommendations will be provided to the City Commission to determine final ranking at the Monday, August 12, meeting.

For complete information on the finalists, visit the City’s site.
