The City’s Public Art Committee is seeking an artist or a team of artists to create an outdoor art installation for the roundabout at the intersection of May Street and San Marco Avenue.
Since their initial meeting in October 2023, the Public Art Committee has gone through the necessary steps to begin the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process.
The design must be original in nature and adhere to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) requirements while being able to withstand extreme weather conditions and heavy traffic, ensuring structural integrity while demanding minimal maintenance and cost. Further, the art installation should serve as a reflection of St. Augustine’s diverse culture. The City of St. Augustine intends this public art to reflect civic content and be a form of symbolic speech of the municipality, therefore no logos, words, symbols, or statements should be included.
The submission deadline is on Monday, April 1 at 5:00pm. Artists may deliver their submittals to the City of St. Augustine, Attn: Purchasing, 75 King Street, 4th Floor, Lobby D, St. Augustine FL 32084.
For more information about the requirements for submissions or to submit electronically, visit the CaFE website portal.
