City of St. Augustine offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday, December 24 – 26, in observance of Christmas, as well as Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. All solid waste collection services will be suspended on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and there will be no residential recycling on Friday, December 26.
All solid waste services will remain on schedule Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Parking in city-owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Parking will be free on Christmas Day at the Historic Downtown Parking Facility; however, fees will be enforced there on New Year’s Day. Parking fees are enforced at all times at the Castillo de San Marcos parking lot.
Drivers are urged to confirm if a lot is owned by the City of St. Augustine and not a private operator as many of those lots have strict towing policies.
