The City of St. Augustine reminds residents and visitors that vehicular and pedestrian traffic will significantly increase on the weekends during the Nights of Lights season and this will impact traffic and mobility.
Those traveling westbound on the Bridge of Lions from Anastasia Island will experience a traffic detour requiring a right-turn only onto Avenida Menendez, prohibiting travel across the intersection onto Cathedral Place. This detour will be on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 6:00pm until 10:00pm.
Pedestrian barricades will also be in place along the east and west sides of Avenida Menendez between the Bridge of Lions and the Castillo de San Marcos requiring pedestrians to cross at the designated crosswalks. Similar pedestrian barricades will be placed along the south side of Cathedral Place, along the Plaza.
On Anastasia Island in South Davis Shores, the STAR Circulator will continue nighttime operations, daily from 5:00pm to 12:00am, dropping riders at the east side of the Bridge of Lions, south of Anastasia Blvd., at the corner of Gerado Street.
Ride share geofencing is enforced on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00pm to 2:00am in the Historic Downtown District.
Nights of Lights information is available on the city’s website. All are encouraged to download the Nights of Lights St. Augustine mobile app for complete “know before you go” information, including updated parking and shuttles, bathroom locations, live camera feeds, things to do, and more.
