On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the City of St Augustine’s Community Redevelopment Agency will host a fun and interactive grand re-opening event at the newly reconstructed Eddie Vickers Basketball and Pickleball Courts. There will also be a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the City of St. Augustine at the newly renovated Willie Galimore Community Center.
The activities at the sports courts will begin at 4:00pm and will include an inaugural pickleball serve by Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline and Commissioner Jim Springfield will shoot the first jump-shot.
Immediately following, residents will have the opportunity to participate in mini-game sessions of both basketball and pickleball with City staff. For those who prefer to spectate, we invite you to enjoy watching the games from the newly installed shaded bleachers. There will be lots of fun, prize giveaways, and light refreshments.
At 6:00pm, the community is invited to visit the Willie Galimore Community Center for a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will include remarks by Commissioner Cynthia Garris, a self-guided tour of the newly remodeled interior and exterior pool area, and light refreshments.
Residents can register to play in mini-game sessions of pickleball and basketball by clicking the links below. Spots to play are limited, but all are encouraged to attend the ceremony.
