Ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, October 29 at 10:30am

The City of St. Augustine is pleased to announce a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the upcoming relocation of Dining with Dignity, a meal service program operated by Home Again St. johns and local outreach and faith-based organizations and churches.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 29, at 10:30am, at the newly constructed dining pavilion located at 92 S. Dixie Highway, at the corner of SR 207, behind the Winn-Dixie shopping plaza.

This highly anticipated occasion is the first step in a multi-phase initiative of the City of St. Augustine to assist the city’s homeless population.

City Commissioner Cynthia Garris has been an ardent supporter of building the pavilion and is looking forward to opening the facility, saying “This is an amazing new place for those in our community with the greatest needs to be served a meal truly with dignity.”  She added, “the covered area is protected from the sun, there’s tables and bathrooms… and the beautiful trees on this property – it will do more than just provide them a meal, I hope it will help restore their spirits, too.”

Dining with Dignity is scheduled to serve their first meal at the pavilion on Friday, November 14, 2025.
