Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among seniors 65 years of age and older. Many agencies and organizations, along with medical alert system providers, recognize the need for awareness, education and the need for prevention programs and strategies to reduce risk of falls in seniors.
If your school group or community organization is interested in the daily life of a firefighter, schedule a Fire Station Tour! An on-duty firefighter will walk you around explaining various aspects of life at the firehouse, including a turnout gear and fire truck demonstration. A tour takes around 45 minutes, depending on the size of the group. Please be aware that all units remain in service during the fire station tours, and may have to leave in order to respond to an emergency.
