Assistant Chief Cuthbert started his career in law enforcement in May of 1993 with the City Farmington, NM. He joined the City of St. Augustine Police Department in 1997. Assistant Chief Cuthbert is a 1992 graduate of the University of Central Florida, B.A. in Criminal Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy Session 275 and has completed Executive Leadership training at St. Johns River Community College (Class 1), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) ELS Class 5 and Florida Executive Leadership Seminar (FEDS).
He has held the positions of:
Assistant Chief Cuthbert has held roles ranging from Honor Guard, FDLE Certified Firearms Instructor, Traffic Homicide Investigator/Reconstructionist, Glock Armorer, Special Response Team Commander (SRT), Field Training Officer (FTO), Bike Patrol amongst a number of others. In addition he was honored as Officer of the Year in 2015 and he holds memberships in the Florida Internal Affairs Investigators Association, IACP, FPCA, FBI National Academy Associates, Treasurer for St. Augustine Police Benevolent Organization, and was a former Trustee for the St. Augustine Police Officers' Retirement System, Board Member for Home Again St. Johns and Board Member of the St. Francis House.
