Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to hold public meetings

Seawall Replacement Project study will evaluate alternatives for new seawall

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two will host two meetings, one online/virtual on Tuesday, January 23 and one in-person on Thursday, January 25, to inform the public and gather input for a seawall replacement project along A1A from Bridge of Lions to Charlotte Street.  The Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study evaluates the alternatives for replacement of the existing seawall which is at the end of its service life. 

All participants, regardless of the platform they choose, will receive the same information on the proposed project and all comments received in-person, virtually or electronically, will be given equal weight.

There is no in-person option for this meeting.

After reviewing the meeting materials, and/or participating in either meeting, you may submit comments as follows:

While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please note that comments must be received by February 5, 2024, to be included in the formal meeting record.  Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. People who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Daniel Penniman, Project Manager, at the information provided below at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
