Recycling pickup rescheduled, no yard debris pickup
Offices for the City of St. Augustine will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Recycling and yard debris collection schedules will be altered to allow for solid waste workers to be given the holiday off from work.
Wednesday yard debris pickup will be cancelled on November 8, 2023. Residential recycling that is normally collected on Thursday, will be collected on Wednesday, November 8. Residential recycling that is normally collected on Friday will be collected on Thursday, November 9.
This is only for the week of Veterans Day and does not impact commercial solid waste collection.
Parking in city owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, including Veterans Day, except for the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. City-owned parking lots and on-street parking will be free on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11.
Drivers are urged to confirm if a lot is owned by the City of St. Augustine and not a private operator as many of those lots have strict towing policies. Parking will be enforced for all vehicles parked illegally, including in areas reserved for delivery, franchised sightseeing vehicles and taxis, or vehicles on sidewalks or against yellow curbs.
As a reminder, as of Monday, November 6, hours of enforcement for City-managed parking lots and street parking spaces will be extended citywide, unless otherwise posted, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and will include Sundays from 1:00pm to 9:00pm
