Altered solid waste collection schedule
Offices for the City of St. Augustine will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2023 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. In order to give staff the opportunity to have the holiday off from work, the Solid Waste Division will be closed and the collection schedule will be altered. Note, limited services will still be completed, such as litter pick up and commercial solid waste/recycling collections. There will be no yard debris collection and residential solid waste collections will be delayed by one day. The altered schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, May 30 – Monday’s residential garbage collection
- Wednesday, May 31 – Tuesday’s residential garbage collection; No residential yard waste collection
- Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2 – Normal Residential Recycling Collection
- Wednesday, June 7 – Residential yard waste collection resumes
Parking in city owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, including the Memorial Day holiday, except for the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. Drivers are urged to confirm if a lot is owned by the City of St. Augustine and not a private operator as many of those lots have strict towing policies.
