This project is taking place from the Fall of 2017 to Fall of 2019. View a video of the street improvements to learn more.
The South Street Sidewalk project is provided by the Lincolnville Community Redevelopment Area (LCRA), which uses Tax Increment Financing (TIF) monies to make improvements in the designated Lincolnville area. The sidewalk will be located in the same proximity as the current temporary striped walking path that was installed in November 2017 in response to public interest in creating a safe pedestrian lane in the neighborhood.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of the sidewalk will begin in September and be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting and no unforeseen circumstances. This portion of the sidewalk will start at the west side of Maria Sanchez Lake and run to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue
Phase 2
Phase 2 of the project is planned for fiscal year 2019 to 2020 and will include extensive underground drainage, water and sewer infrastructure construction. This portion of the sidewalk will continue from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue to Riberia Street.
