star busThe City of St. Augustine is proud to announce the launch of the STAR Circulator on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:00am. This free bus service, funded through a Florida Department of Transportation grant and operated by Historic Tours of America’s Old Town Trolley, will provide circular transportation around the downtown core, starting at the Visitor Information Center (VIC), located at 10 S. Castillo Drive, near the clocktower.

The circulator service will depart the VIC and make its way to Avenida Menendez.  The first circulator stop will be in front of 14 Avenida Menendez, followed by the second stop on the north side of Cathedral Place, midblock between St. George and Cordova Streets.

The route will continue north on Cordova Street and the bus will return to its starting point at the VIC, which will function as the circulator hub.  “The introduction of the downtown circulator bus service represents a significant milestone for St. Augustine,” said Reuben Franklin, Assistant City Manager. “It aims to enhance connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and provide a convenient mode of transportation for the downtown workforce, residents, and visitors.”

The total travel distance is 1.12 miles, and travel time is estimated to be approximately 15 minutes during normal traffic conditions.  The service will operate daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm, but hours of operation may vary during Nights of Lights and other special days and holidays.

Passengers are permitted one complete circle and must disembark to be allowed back on the bus.  The last pick-up for service departs the VIC at 10:00pm.
