2019 Galimore Pool Schedule (PDF)

Pool Season Lengthened

The Galimore Community Pool will reopen on Saturday, September 7 after having to close due to repairs, followed by the anticipation of Hurricane Dorian. The pool’s season is still extended by one week to October 6.

Pool Season Begins

Most would agree that Memorial Day weekend is traditionally the start of summer, and what better way to mark summer’s beginning than by the opening of a new season for the Galimore Community Pool on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, May 24, 2019.

Marking the seventh season of the Galimore Community Pool since its complete renovation and upgrade by the city in 2013, the pool has proven to be one of the community's most popular summer gathering spots for families and friends. Operated by the St. Augustine Family YMCA, the pool is part of the Willie Galimore Community Center.

Hours

The 2019 pool schedule (PDF), from May 24 through September 29, includes hours for family and lap swimming ever day of the week with consideration given to certain YMCA programming, including swimming lessons and swim camp. Please note that groups of six or more children will need to secure a time slot by emailing the YMCA.

Rates

The fees for the pool’s use are the same as those for the Solomon Calhoun Center, a St. Johns County facility whose program is also managed by the YMCA.

Credit cards, debit cards, and bills larger than $20 will not be accepted, but checks payable to The City of St. Augustine will be accepted. Passes can be purchased at the pool starting Memorial Day weekend. For more information about summer swimming at the Galimore Community Center, call the city’s General Services Department at 904-825-1010.
