Public Works is also responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost effective delivery of water and sewer services for the city as well as the engineering, construction and maintenance of systems relating to the delivery of water and sewer services. They also maintain the infrastructure necessary for the efficient and safe handling of stormwater. Serving as Deputy Director of Public Works, and serving as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Officer, is Todd Grant, P.G.
The Public Works Department has the responsibility for the delivery of a wide array of important services to the people of St. Augustine. To accomplish this, the Department is organized into the following Divisions:
- Development and Management Support
- Solid Waste and Sanitation
- Streets and Grounds
- Treatment Plant Operations
- Utility Field Operations
The Public Works Director and City Engineer, Michael G. Cullum, P.E., is responsible for overseeing the wide range of services provided and delivered to the people of St. Augustine:
- Streets and grounds
- Trash and recycling
- Water treatment
The department maintains streets, sidewalks, signs, public parks and gardens throughout the city and provides solid waste removal, including household garbage, yard trash and recyclable materials.
